Lace Helix Neck-Thru Bass Guitar

Lace Helix Neck-Thru Bass Guitar Transparent Blue

Lace Helix Neck-Thru Bass Guitar Transparent Blue

The premium version of Don Lace's new "Lace Red Label Series" basses, this eye-catching, neck-thru bass guitar features the patented Helix design, a multi-laminated construction, mahogany body, chrome hardware, dual Alumitone bass pickups, 3-way selector switches, and a master switch for volume and tone. With its current driven design, rather the traditional voltage based pickups, the Alumitone, created by Jeff Lace, allows the musician a higher fidelity, or broad-band response, that helps to create a tighter top-end, more mid-range and a huge bottom end. This passive pickup outperforms many active systems, and the sonic output level generally exceeds that of similar preamp equipped basses. Since the Alumitone isn't like conventional pickups with a preamp and batteries, the Helix is a few pounds lighter, more environmentally friendly and cost effective. It also has an aesthetically pleasing chrome and black look. Another unique aspect of the "Lace Red Label Series" is the control knobs. Instead of the usual twist type knobs, Lace has incorporated the modern look of data system control knobs for simple, single-finger manipulation. The top strap post, as well as the output jack, is hidden on the backside, giving the Helix a cleaner look in the front. Whether you buy the solid black or transparent red or blue style, these design decisions allows you to see more of the highlights and subtleties of the natural wood grain. The Lace Red Label Series neck-thru bass is a feast for the eyes and ears. Go ahead and splurge, it's worth it.
