Strings – All guitar strings are not created equal. A guitar strung with extra light gauge strings will sound completely different than the same guitar strung with medium or heavy gauge strings. The material a string is made of will also play into the tone produced. For electric guitars a pure nickel guitar string will produce a warm vintage tone. A nickel plated steel string will create a bright tone and provide more sustain than pure nickel.
