Guild GAD50 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar (with Case)



The Guild GAD-50 was designed utilizing a body shape that is the most popular acoustic body shape in the world and has been used for over 70 years. They use solid Indian Rosewood for the back and sides, a solid spruce top that features scalloped bracing, and then joined the one piece mahogany neck with the traditional dovetail neck joint.

For other appointments on the GAD-50 they use Indian Rosewood for the fingerboard and bridge. Guild continued the use of high quality tone woods by featuring ebony for the pearl dot inlayed bridge and strap pins, then added wood bindings, and Grover Rotomatic tuning gears. For the best in tone and intonation, they installed a bone nut and bone compensated saddle.

For the finishing touches they inlayed classic pearl fingerboard inlays and then pack the instrument in a wooden arched case. A guitar worthy of representing over 50 years of fine guitar building by Guild® Guitars.

Neck-Through Construction
B.C. Rich is known as one of the pioneers in neck through construction. They use it on many of their guitars, because it provides the best possible sustain, resonance, comfort and access to higher frets. Neck-through has long been considered the premium construction method for high-end guitars. This construction starts with a long piece (or pieces) of premium North American maple. That piece runs from the tip of the headstock to the strap button on the opposite end of the guitar. This means that the headstock, fingerboard, pickups and bridge all are mounted to this single sound foundation. Sonically it is a difference you can hear. The neck-through construction also allows more of the body and neck to be cut away at the neck joint, which provides comfort no bolt-on or set-neck could offer.
